Percutaneous Bunionette Correction - 24/07/25
, Piotr Chomicki-Bindas, MD d, e, Felipe Chaparro, MD fRésumé |
Percutaneous bunionette correction has shown promising outcomes in the treatment of painful bunionette deformities. The procedure entails creating a small incision and utilizing a long Shannon burr to perform osteotomy and realign the fifth metatarsal. This minimally invasive surgical approach increasingly supplants the open technique as the preferred standard of care. The percutaneous method yields comparable or marginally superior results in terms of the clinical and radiographic outcomes. Furthermore, the risk of complications is substantially reduced compared to open techniques owing to the minimally invasive approach and the absence of hardware.
