Highlights |
• | We compared PEP Buddy (PB) and incentive spirometry (IS) for atelectasis. |
• | Lung ultrasound score (LUS), oxygenation (SpO2) and user experience were assessed. |
• | PB significantly improved LUS and SpO2 in post-operative atelectasis. |
• | The improvement in LUS and SpO2 with IS use was non-significant. |
• | Participants found PB easier to learn and use than IS. |
