Transportation-related injuries in children are on the rise, including pedestrian, cycling, and micromobility-related injuries. There are marked racial and economic disparities necessitating a multipronged approach to improving access to public transportation, addressing systemic racism, and the need for investment in transportation safety measures, including pedestrian-safe streets and sidewalks in line with evidence-based design principles.
