Objective |
To assess the barriers and opportunities to strengthening climate-resilient health systems in the Eastern Caribbean.
Design and methods |
Information was extracted from desk reviews of the National Health Adaptation Plans for Climate Change (2022–2023). SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats) analyses informed plan preparation.
Results |
Barriers included inadequate enabling governance and weak multisectoral collaboration. Opportunities included strong political commitment, inter-ministerial committees, and access to climate and health financing.
Conclusion |
Caribbean small island states are well positioned to apply adaptation and mitigation measures to build climate-resilient health systems.
