Paleoscopy - 19/08/11
| Commentary Paleothoracocoeloscopy [from paleo: (G) ancient, prehistoric; thorax: (G) chest; and coel (L): hollow] would seem to be a more precise, if not awkward, macaronic neologism for the type of activity described here. It is interesting, mildly invasive, and without a wide range of applicability, but it certainly complements other paleoimaging techniques. The ancients would say, “non nova sed nove”—not new things but in a new way. Lawrence J. Brandt, MD Associate Editor of Focal Points |
