The legal issues concerning Document Management in Victoria, Australia, have achieved a level of notoriety as a result of the case of McCabe v British American Tobacco Australia Limited. The case has ramifications for all professional service providers. A Document Management Policy is a handy tool to have but it must be administered in a responsible and proper way. The Victorian Government is considering legislative reforms to ensure that this occurs.
