ULNAR NEUROPATHY AT THE WRIST - 07/09/11
Résumé |
Entrapment of the ulnar nerve at the wrist is rare compared with the more common site at the elbow. This condition, first described in 1908 by Hunt, 13 was thought to be secondary to occupational-related trauma. After this description, numerous causes have been implicated. Electrophysiologic and neuroimaging studies are quite useful in localizing and identifying various structural origins. Because ulnar neuropathy may be the initial presentation of a generalized neuropathy, careful clinical and electrophysiologic evaluation is important to exclude a more widespread neuropathy.
