Endoscopic removal techniques are important because they provide a resection specimen for precise histopathologic staging to further direct diagnosis, prognosis, and management decisions. Used according to its indications, it provides curative resection and obviates the higher morbidity, mortality, and cost associated with alternative surgical treatment.
