While numerous statistical tests exist, their results are always interpreted using the same principles and the choice of test is made in accordance with a limited number of criteria. Moreover, although they are often essential tools, these tests present certain limits which the researcher must be aware of in order to interpret their results in a critical and pertinent manner.
