A Gold Open Access journal by ELSEVIER and SERDI PUBLISHER

There is increasing scientific and clinical interest in the topic of nutrition for healthspan. This interest is due to the important role nutrition plays throughout the life span, since it affects the growth and development of the body during childhood, the risk of acute and chronic diseases, the maintenance of physiological processes during the life course, the cellular and molecular drivers of aging, leading to improved intrinsic capacity and ultimately healthspan.

A major aim of The Journal of nutrition, health & aging (JNHA) is to improve the knowledge regarding the relationships between nutrition, healthy longevity, intrinsic capacity and the aging process from birth to old age. Our ambition is:

  • To be the main outlet for high-level publications in the field of nutrition and exercise for healthy longevity.
  • To attract studies from translational sciences (basic science with strong potential for translation to humans in the short-term) to clinical research and public health on aging.
  • To be the home for articles in topics related to the role of nutrition on intrinsic capacity, functional ability, resilience, geroscience, and geriatric syndromes, such as frailty and sarcopenia.
  • To attract randomized clinical trials on healthy longevity for publication.
  • To publish investigations on the role of specific nutrients as well as diets and dietary patterns on Intrinsic capacity, functional ability, and healthy longevity, especially when using a longitudinal design.
  • To be a forum for the debates around nutrition and healthy longevity, from applied basic science to clinical and public health research.

The Journal of nutrition, health & aging is indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Medline, PubMed Central (PMC), Web of Science (SCIE), Scopus, and ranked in its categories in the first quartile (Q1) in both SCIE and Scopus databases.
