Résumé

Health care team performance is associated with patient and organizational outcomes across various clinical settings. Improving team function is now considered an essential strategy for improving health care outcomes. We present considerations for health care team function, identifying key themes of trust, psychological safety, shared mental models, and sensemaking. We provide examples of successful team-based initiatives and recommendations for team-based interventions.
