Simulation in Nursing Education - 05/08/11
Résumé |
Clinical simulation is rapidly becoming important in nursing education. Nursing faculty members are challenged to prepare nurses for complex environments and work with interdisciplinary teams. In addition, health care administrators expect basic competence from new nursing graduates. The new generation of nursing students is often video and computer savvy, and case studies and computer interactive CDs may not be as effective with this generation. Although more research is needed on high-fidelity simulation, it can be an exciting application of advanced technology in nursing education. It is rapidly becoming state-of-the-art in nursing education because it can bridge the gap between classroom instruction and the unpredictable clinical area.
