Correlation between neurotracker and post-concussion syndrome
, C. Detymowski b, c, d, e, C. Kassasseya f, J.-F. Chermann gRésumé |
Introduction |
Conclusion |

Introduction |
The objective of this study was to evaluate a correlation between the neurotracker performance and the duration of the post-concussion syndrome.
Methods |
We retrospectively analyzed on a series of patients with concussion the correlation of the neurotracker performance with post-concussion syndrome duration, and the fact of having or not symptoms during the test with the duration of the post-concussion syndrome.
Results |
In total, 314 patients were included. There was a significant inverse correlation between neurotracker performance and post-concussion syndrome duration, R=−0.41 (P<0.001). This correlation was −0.53 (P<0.001) in the 126 patients who could be seen at 48–72hours. Patients with symptoms when performing the test had a significantly longer post-concussive syndrome, 53 [16.5–89.5] vs. 14.3 [2–26.6] days (P<0.001), and established a worse score, 0.87 [0.64–1.1] vs. 1.3 [0.9–1.7] (P<0.001).
Conclusion |
This study confirms a correlation between the neurotracker and the severity of the post-concussion syndrome. In order to predict the recovery time, an early consultation is recommended for optimal management.
