L’oxygénothérapie est utilisée pluriquotidiennement en salle de surveillance postinterventionnelle (SSPI) afin de prévenir et de traiter les désaturations postopératoires.  Cependant, comme pour tout produit de santé, une utilisation raisonnée est recommandée.  Un protocole de gestion de l’oxygénothérapie a été mis en place dans la SSPI du bloc opératoire de neurochirurgie des Hospices civils de Lyon. Une étude des pratiques avant et après son implémentation a été réalisée afin d’évaluer son impact sur la consommation d’oxygène et la sécurité des patients.

Oxygen therapy is used several times a day in the post-interventional monitoring room (PICU) to prevent and treat postoperative desaturation. However, as with any healthcare product, reasoned use is recommended. A protocol for managing oxygen therapy has been implemented in the SSPI of the neurosurgery operating room at Hospices civils de Lyon. A study of practices before and after its implementation was carried out to assess its impact on oxygen consumption and patient safety.
