Ulnar neuropathy at the elbow (UN-E) is the second most frequent entrapment neuropathy occurring in adults.48 It accounted for 9% of all diagnoses and 20% of focal neuropathies in our laboratory over a 2-year period. Although clinical diagnosis of ulnar neuropathy is often straightforward, electrophysiologic confirmation can be challenging, and optimal treatment remains controversial. As in all neurologic problems, a sound knowledge of anatomy is the foundation of accurate diagnosis.
