Contrast-enhanced breast MRI offers new pathophysiologic information, which cannot be provided by conventional breast imaging. In order to make optimal use of this information the following should be considered :

An optimized and reliable technique has to be chosen. Interpretation criteria should depend on the diagnostic question and should consider dynamic and morphologic information of the enhancement as well as the information available from conventional imaging. Finally, choice of the appropriate indications is another most important prerequisite for good results.
